My Intent to Find a Treasure

I want to talk a bit about INTENT. I always say that intent is everything. Intent requires FAITH; mine is unshakable. I believe in miracles and I expect them to happen.

Without FAITH; there is nothing; just void. It sends up a big “NO” to the Universe, before we even open our mouths. We need to be an “open vessel” before we open our mouths, because FAITH is what opens our vessel to all things possible.

It was June 4, 2012. It was the end of a long day, and I had just returned from the local nursery with some perennial plants about 7:00 pm, for one of my gardens. I was exhausted beyond words; I was literally dragging my feet. There I was in a daze, staring at one of my larger perennial gardens, thinking, “Do I have any energy left to work in my garden?” Just then, one of my guides said, “There’s a big empty spot over there; perhaps you should move one of your day lilies from the wooded garden into that spot.” Really? What part of I’m exhausted don’t they get?

DaylilyI looked at my day lilies and decided upon one to move. I dug a hole near one of my chicken coops, dug out the day lily, then planted it in the ground and gave it a drink.

At that point, I thought that perhaps I should fill the hole, where I dug out the day lily; just in the event the lawn service comes to mow the lawn in the morning. I wouldn’t want them to break an axel on their mower by running over the hole in the ground.

I went into the woods and began to dig some dirt to fill the hole. Being sarcastic, I said out loud, Gee, it sure would be nice if I found a treasure. Certainly there must be something from the old homestead buried out here.” I was so hopeful with each shovel of dirt that I would find a trinket of some kind, even an old button. Alias; nothing was discovered.

I started walking up the blacktop driveway back to the house. After taking a few steps, I heard, “Aren’t you going to plant a couple of those perennials that you bought?” Really? You just made me dig up a day lily and move it and I’m exhausted, what the heck!

Variegated Sedum

I don’t know why, but I can’t seem to say, “NO!” to my guides. I walked over to my collection of newly purchased perennials and stared at them; trying to decide which perennial to plant. After great deliberation, I chose a Variegated Sedum.

I looked around wearily, for a place to plant the Sedum. After an agonizing amount of time, I assessed the perfect location. I placed my shovel on the ground and jumped on it. For some reason, I couldn’t get my shovel into the soil. It didn’t even break the ground. I moved the shovel slightly, tried again, and nothing. I thought this was quite odd, because it had rained a few days prior; the soil was perfect for digging.

I then decided to move my intended planting site, about one foot to the left. I placed my shovel on the ground and pushed on the shovel with my foot. It went into the soil with the greatest of ease. I popped back the shovel of dirt, and as I did, a crisp, new $1 bill flew out of the ground! I said out loud, “Boy, you guys are cheap! You call that a treasure?” Just then, an epiphany struck me; the “real treasure” wasn’t the $1, but finding it! I ASKED for a treasure from the Universe and I got one. I wasn’t exactly specific, but I have to tell you they know what excites me and it’s not cash; but the unexpected.

I looked at the dollar bill. It was quite white considering that it was dated 2009. Then my “ego brain” kicked in and I realized that I originally planted that garden in 2007! How the heck did that dollar get buried that deep in the ground? It just didn’t seem to matter, it was just a great series of events.

The next day, I had a call from a client named Pear in California. We had been working together on a large fundraising, mosaic tile project, for her local school. Through various conversations, I knew she was “spiritual,” but not totally out of the “spiritual closet” quite yet.

I decided to tell her my story about finding the dollar. At the end of my story, she said, “Diane, I have to tell you something, I talked to our committee yesterday, and I’ve asked for a $1,000 bonus for you; it’s been approved. That’s your intended treasure!”

Go figure, I was just hoping for an old button and I ended up with a thousand dollars and a fantastic story. Now that is Grace; beautiful!

  1. Awesome experience. I cant say no to my guides, either. Sometimes I have tried sure, later? It’s always been a bad option. They know what I don’t and nothing they say is ever unnecessary, there’s always a darn good reason for it, even that reason is to have fun together. So… what was under the ground where your shovel wouldn’t go into the dirt? Just a stone? Or something else…
